Atlas Weaving

  • Atlas weaving is the very fabric of Uzbek culture. This unique style of silk production has been meticulously preserved and is often taught outside traditional classroom settings in a master-to-protege style. Our weaving classes will take you on this journey! Travel to Margilan and meet your carefully selected instructor. Spend your mornings in the weaving studio practicing the traditional art and getting hands-on instruction from IAA’s expert weaver. End your adventure in Samarkand to learn about and try your hand at carpet weaving. Explore sites every afternoon. At night, stay in traditional accommodations, drink tea under the stars with your fellow students, and enjoy authentic dinners.

    Start your culinary experience in Tashkent to gain an initial understanding of Uzbek cuisine. Venture to Samarkand and beyond to see how different regions interpret each dish. Silk Road Archeology
