Unbound Education:

Your classroom

is everywhere

At International Academic Advisors, we know first hand that learning happens everywhere. In classrooms, coffee shops, open hills, and historic museums there are valuable lessons and stories worth remembering.

We offer an array of services to help everyone be a student of where they are. Study abroad with IAA as a student, work with advisors while applying to schools, or travel with us on in-depth tours of unique locations. Regardless of where you are in your academic journey, IAA is ready to help. Join us in turning everywhere into a classroom.

About Our Motto:

  • Ezoza Yakvalkhodjieva

Ezoza is ethnically Uzbek. The daughter of a journalist and a documentary filmmaker, she grew up living "on location" with extended stays in Germany, South Korea, and Russia. These experiences, as well as living in a multilingual family, helped her cultivate a love of languages. She speaks English, Russian, Uzbek, Turkish, Uyghur, Korean, Spanish, and is currently learning French.

In addition to being a polyglot, Ezoza is a writer and director. She has written for Eurasianet, Calvert Journal, Al Jazeera, and more. When not working on IAA, she is developing her film.

Ezoza is based in NYC but has experience advising international students.

  • Kate Himonas

Since she was roughly 5 years old, Kate told people that she was going to spend a year traveling after college. After graduating, she did just that. Her gap year included working on a vineyard, bartending, scuba diving, and a lot of hiking. She earned her Master's from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in 2021 where she transformed her gap year experiences into a thesis examining the political and economic forces shaping cocktail trends in Russia. Before starting with IAA, she worked as a researcher for a travel/music start-up and consultant for an international firm.

Kate is an avid no-gi jiu jitsu practitioner. She makes a point of visiting gyms in every country she can. When not on the mats, she likes to spend her free time outside. She especially enjoys trekking, and completed the Torres del Paine O Trek (85 miles) in 4 days.
